We cannot say that dating your ex is a good idea. Even meeting with him. And such an awkward meeting demands a prepared script. Instead of dating your ex the goal must be to make the ex think twice about the dump by appearing totally confident, desirable, and breezy.

o Come up with an image or thought that will help you suppress your emotions. This might be a peaceful image, like a deserted beach at low tide, or an unemotional scenario, such as a particularly boring business meeting. Practice conjuring up this image to condition yourself to keep calm and serene in the event of a run-in.
